Add items to be shown on the home page here by using the 'Add location' option. ArticleMole XVI Conference also this year a great success

Over the past 16 years, the Mole conference has constituted the most important multi-stakeholder forum for discussion issues relating to the development of the Community Water and Sanitation Sector issues. This year's Mole conference has again lived up to expectation.  It was organised by the Coalition of NGOs in the Water and Sanitation sector (CONIWAS) at the Miklin hotel in Kumasi from 7 till 10 June. The conference brought together about 100  stakeholders within the Ghanaian Water and Sanitation Sector including donors, agency staff, NGO personnel, community groups and District Assembly staff. The theme of the Conference's was "Counting the Numbers: A Water and Sanitation Sector MDG Challenge".

FileDistrict Operated and Owned M&E System, the TREND perspective

In September 2004, a District Operated M&E Framework – Indicator Definition workshop was held to discuss the required indicators and methodologies for a district-based M&E system, bringing together most of the major stakeholders/development partners within the WASH sector. As a follow up, a workshop was organised by the Water Directorate of the Ministry of Works and Housing on the 22nd and 23rd of March 2005 with participation of all the MDA’s /NGO’s presently involved with the ongoing district M&E initiatives, to look at the practicalities of implementing district owned and operated M&E systems. TREND Group was asked to give a presentation on this subject from its perspective.

TREND and IRC organised a 1-day workshop titled “Improving the quality and utilisation of MDG monitoring data at national and sub-national level” on 24 February 2005 at the Novotel, Accra, Ghana. This workshop was a follow-up on a draft country position paper, which focuses on aspects of the validity and utility in monitoring the MDGs in Ghana.
